When Baseball Went White, written by Ryan Swanson analyzes the relationship between reconstruction and baseball. Swanson argues that Baseball was segregated to stop sectionalism and to create a new national pastime that everyone could enjoy. This book is very informative and is a great read for anyone looking to understand Baseball’s beginnings.
