For most of my sports-viewing life, I have been and still am a fan of the Red Sox. Like most Red Sox fans in the south, I get it from my Dad who was a transplant from Massachusetts. For my father, he’d rather receive a phone call from me saying I’m in jail before saying that I’m not a Red Sox fan. I love the team through the stories passed down from my dad and grandfather who watched the team during their infamous World Series drought hearing of players such as Ted Williams or Bill Buckner’s inglorious choke. My favorite player on the team has always been David Ortiz or (Big Poppy) as he carried a struggling team into one that was competitive and can win titles again.
